So you have lost a little weight! Congratulations.Looking better and feeling great may be their own rewards when you lose weight, but it never hurts to reward yourself for reaching goals and sticking to your eating plan. You worked hard for that weight loss!

Reward yourself with incentives

Building in incentives is a time-honored way of helping keep yourself on track to lose weight. Did you pass up that piece of cheesecake at lunch? Did you get out and exercise for your daily half-hour? Went the whole week without falling off your new routine?

Consider a non food reward for weight loss such as these:

  • treat yourself to an evening out,
  • or buy that book you’ve been dying to read or
  • take a luxurious bath with scented oils.
  • treat yourself to a manicure, a pedicure or getting your hair styled in a new way.
  • buy yourself some flowers
  • download some new music
  • have a celebration night out with your family, do something besides eating

And for your bigger goals of 10 pounds, 25 pounds and so on that you lose, why not consider something bigger. You could be giving yourself a monetary reward for every week you stay on track in your exercise and diet plan and then spend it on something like a new piece of jewelry or an exercise machine, when you reach your bigger goals…
